Picnic Table Creations, LOL!

Here's what I worked on yesterday at my picnic table. It was such a beautiful sunny day, as today is also, that I had to break and enjoy some sunshine. The first pic are my cutting boards. Hubs cut these for me last year (LMBO) and they've been in the wood "to-do" box till now. I have more I'll be working on later, each one different. Yes, I love cutting boards too!

Next is my wall shelf hubs made me while making my stove board. Just now getting around to finishing it too. It has a rusty wire going across front so I can use bowls or what ever I want to display on the shelf area. Under neath the shelf are rusty square head nails for hanging my Colonial tapers and other things on. You can't see them in the pic but they're there, lol. I just love how this turned out, painted it several times, has red and wood showing through the black.

Next are my two star hook wall hanger boards. The first is the smaller one with 3 star hooks done in black. The second is larger with 4 star hooks in mustard. I'm very happy with these too!

Daughter came in and saw them and wanted to take the black one home with her, lol. Told her I had to take pics, she could get it later. I love the star hooks and use them several ways....to hold my curtain panels back (instead of using tie backs), to drape homespun over for a window topper, and when put on the boards they're cute for the porch as umbrella holders/hangers. So many uses for those and I think they're the perfect size. Well, there you have it, that's what I've been busy doing. And have more things to finish today. And a last reminder....tonight at midnight is the deadline to enter my giveaway on my selling blog. Till next time, have fun crafting!

Thanks For Your Prayers

Wanted to take time and thank everyone for your prayers for my mom & sis. Sis was much better the next day and mom got released from the hospital late yesterday evening. I truly thank you all and it was much appreciated.

And I wanted to remind you that you have till tomorrow at midnight, (March 19th), to enter the giveaway on my selling blog, Rusty Shed Crafts. Only requirements are that you are a follower of that blog and you leave a comment saying you wish to be entered.

Sorry I haven't been posting much, but with everything going on I've had very little time. I have been working on some things as I could and will share pics once finished. I'm also seeing on your blogs that you ladies have been very busy working on your Easter decor and I'm loving all your creations! Every chance I get I go "blog hopping" to look and see what everyone else is into or saying. I had so much fun and have seen plenty of awesome creations. It's great to see that so many are enjoying the upcoming Easter holiday. Keep posting those pics so we all can see!

My First....

Reproduction Cupboard Print! I'm finding these are very fun to make and here's my first try. Of course now that I've tried one I'll tweak it to my preferences, lol. I put this canvas print on cardboard, used a rusty wire for hanging, then used stained paper over the cardboard to make it look like it has an aged back too. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out but will do a few things differently next time.

Andrew Jackson

Can't wait to try several others and different techniques! I have some wood frames to make over so will put some in frames too. This is so neat and would work for your favorite Shabby Chic photos as well. I can see there's a lot to be explored with making these and the possibilities are endless! Hope you're having fun crafting today!

New Stove Board!

As promised I'm posting pics of my new stove board! Eeeeek!!! I just LOVE how it turned out! First, I must give credit to my awesome and talented hubby for making it for me. I gave him the measurements, described exactly how I wanted it to look, and the man worked his magic! Thanks babe, you know I love ya!

I'll have to dig out my things I will be using for display on it as these were only for a quick pic. I wanted a black one but that would have been too much. Instead, I did the base coat in black then painted in barn red, sanded, and topped with stain. And those of you who know me KNOW I'M DOING MY HAPPY DANCE right now, LOL! I've waited soooo long for this and finally have one! Yippee! Till next time....have fun crafting!

Busy, busy, busy!

Hi everyone! I've been very busy these past few days and I've almost finished my stove board, lol! It's been a long time in the work since hubs made it for me. I've only been able to work on it a little at a time while running in-between other things, but I love the way it's turning out! I finally got it painted, stained, and sanded yesterday but going to give it a good clear sealer coat as it will be heavily used. Was outside all day working on it and some other project and enjoyed every second of it! We've had some awesome warm weather but today it's raining. I still have other wood projects to finish up so guess I'll hit out to hub's bldg for those. Will be posting pics of things once they're completed. What have you been working on lately? Share your projects so we can visit your blogs and see! Have fun crafting!

More Tapers Coming!

I'm in the process of making hanging tapers on a rod. I'll make them in several colors and scents, and will list them on my other blogs. I will post pics here. Keep watch for them, they're too cute! I've also listed some designer tarts and pantry sacks on my "Sale" page on the Rusty Shed Crafts blog. As time permits I'll be listing various items over there as I'm clearing out and making room for new creations. So much to do and so little time!

Also wanted to say I tried the "Cheesy Baked Potato Soup" recipe from One Simple Country Girl's blog and it is awesome! Hubs and I both LOVE it! So go try that recipe, it's quick n easy too!

Hub's Birthday Today!

I've been celebrating hub's birthday today, yay! (So I ended up getting little done, lol!) But I'm planning on having a "cleaning sale" on my other blog. I started to call it a yard sale but I think cleaning sale is more fitting. I'm going through and cleaning out things, making room for new stuff. So you'll want to keep watch for some unbelievable deals. That stuff must go as I need more room.

And I must say I've been enjoying all the sunshine that we've had! I also love waking up to the Spring birds singing. I've noticed they're coming back, a little at a time. After all the snows and storms we've had, we're all ready and looking for Spring to arrive. Most of us stay housed-up way too much during the Winter months....I know I have! I'd love to hear how others deal with this so please leave a comment or drop me a few lines. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Tea Towels

Here's some tea towels I've been working on, some have stitch designs and some have stitches and stamp designs. Still have one more to finish and maybe do it with willows? I'll also be making some stained muslin stitched tea towels. These measure 13" wide by 22" long. (The GB man & vine design are from Dianne Cook's candle mat designs.)
