I'm So Far Behind & New Facebook Group!

 Wow! It's been way too long since I've done anything with my blog. 😞  But some good news is I have a new Facebook Group named Outback Prims!  I started the group right before the Covid-19 hit us all in the Spring and it has quickly turned into a crafter's haven, LOL!  If you like Early American, Colonial, Primitive, Farmhouse (and other) decor you'll love this group! I try to keep at least 20 tutorial links posted each day for the members, so we can all keep busy during this difficult time with the virus. We also have tutorials to help keep the kiddos busy too. 😉  We have games, interesting topics and just lots of fun with each other. Zinc Lid Ornie Graphics

Hi y'all! Got the graphics finished for the zinc lid ornies! 😄 There are five sets to choose from, all sets have same farm animals but different backgrounds. These should be printed out on card stock and are for the regular size lids. I'll post graphics for the wide mouth lids later. 😉
There are lots of how-to's on the web, so if you need help do a search for the "Zinc Lid Ornaments." I'll give you a quick how to so you can be sure and have your supplies ready for making them...

Print graphics on card stock paper or glue printed graphics on thin cardboard like a cereal box. Cut graphics as close to black ring as possible for best fit. Try not to cut into the ring, stay on the outside of it. If you want to hang your ornies get rusty wire, ribbons, twine...what ever you want. Most use a nail to make a hole in side of lids, one on either side. (I can't bring myself to destroying a beautiful vintage lid so I wrap mine in wire or whatever I'm using for the hanger. I may want to later use the lid for a different purpose.) Insert the wire (or whatever) thru the holes or wrap and glue around lid. You don't have to hang these, they look great grouped together in an old bowl or on a shelf! Fit your graphic circle inside lid to make sure it fits well, then trim or glue in place. Some use cheesecloth or other thin fabrics under their graphic circle, or glue pipe cleaners (whatever) around the inside. Use your own imagination here. 😉  You can also add a nice pip berry string around the outside of lids if desired.

These farm animal ornies are for everyday use and should sell well for you throughout the year. 😊  I'll make and share other holiday graphics for making these, later of course, LOL!  There are six different animals in each set. Please do not claim these graphics as your own or share them. Send your friends here to my blog so they can get their own AND be getting the original size needed for printing. Hope you like and enjoy making these adorable lil ornies!

Colonial Candle Holder

Hi all, hope everyone is enjoying the new month of April!  😄  Can't wait for it to actually "feel" like Spring!
I ran across an older tutorial I wanted to share with you. Can't remember if I posted this before or not, so .... LOL! The pdf tutorial link is named "cch.pdf" as you'll see below. There are lots of variations for the handle, but for the tut's sake I went simple.  😉  I still have lots of tutorials and crafting recipes yet to share and will as time allows.
As for my health issues...I am feeling somewhat better and trying to get back to a "as close to normal" routine as possible, though I still have 3 more months of basic healing yet to go. Some things I just can't do yet and it's driving me nuts! But I am thankful simply for another day! 😄

Faux Red And Yellow Ware Eggs

Wow! It's been a long while! 2017 was a very full and busy year. Then on Nov. 11th I had two major heart attacks! Had stent surgery to try and save my life, couldn't do more than one at the time. Ended up having OHS (open heart surgery) with 5 by-pass done and now trying to recover. 😉  But I am slowly trying to get back to my crafting. I still have some good and bad days to deal with.

So far I've been working on beeswax tapers on a rod which have always been a highly requested thing for me, some new fun bunnies for Spring...and of course a free tutorial and pattern, and lastly some faux red ware and yellow ware eggs. Not only for Spring, but also year round display! I haven't finished the bunnies yet so pics will come later along with the tapers on rod. 😉 But for now I'll show my eggs...I think they turned out great!  😊  These are paper mache' eggs that have been hand painted and sealed by me....

My First Tipi!

Good Monday morning to ya! 😊   I finally finished my first tipi yesterday and sharing pics today. 😉  I did discover all the do's and don'ts along the way and took pics of each step, so yes, I will be sharing a tutorial with you.  😊  I'll be starting on a second one today and a cabin tent too! Can't wait to get that tent done, have some great ideas for that!

I know it's been a long while but life has been really busy for me with family. I've also created a new scrapbooking blog, Sunshine, Scraps, & Giggles if you want to see. 😉  I had to keep myself busy till I could get back out here to my crafting space, so decided to start those type graphics.  I'll post pics as I get things done out here and try to do tutorials of everything. I'm excited to be back to my crafting as it is my LUV!

Thinking Spring!

Now that Christmas is over my mind goes straight to Spring! 😊  It's true that Winter has only begun and we still have lots of the snow days to come, but I long for the change of vibrant colors and Springtime fun. (And if you noticed, I've changed my countdown too, giggles.) Those graphics are by Trina Clark of DigiScrap. 😉  She has such wonderful prim graphics! ❤

I want to share with you today a blog I found, Livin Vintage. She has awesome posts of all things vintage and the cutest Ducking and the Dachshund pattern she's sharing! Wouldn't that cute lil Duckling be adorable - all prim style - for this Spring's creations! 😊

And for those of you like me that can't wait to get outside again, she has an adorable Garden Tray posted here: Gardening Tray from the 1950's.  Though it may be a wee bit early to think of this, it will give me plenty of time to have mine made. 😉

One more share this morning....and since we still have lots of snow days yet to come, why not make some adorable Bell Jar Ornaments? 😉  How about creating some cute lil snowmen in them or even something for Spring? What a wonderful idea of how she's created these! Use different size plastic bottles for whatever you're creating with them, and no drilling or cutting glass! 😍  I have some miniature birds, eggs, and nest that would be perfect for something Spring and I'll bet you're thinking of your supplies as well! 😉

Countdown Is On!

Giggles, the countdown till Christmas is on! I'm so excited! And IF you'll notice in my right side menu I have a cute lil countdown graphic! 😊 I created the graphic using some of the purchased graphics from Trina Clark of DigiScrapKits. But as for the counter itself, I found this WONDERFUL tutorial for making your own here at Jinglebell Junction by Monica Mays! She takes you step by step through her tutorial for making your own and even gives you coding for her counter if you desire!

I must admit, when I first put it on my blog I had to make some changes to accommodate the width, but no problem. Next I noticed it had -715 days so I knew something wasn't right. I checked the coding and the "new date" section it had December 25, 2014, giggles, so I found my problem! Just remember to change that part when making your own or using her's. 😉 Another thing to note with the coding is changing your image link location (if not using her's). You'll find that section at the first part of the coding where it has background img url. 😉 Change from her link location to your image location. I also noticed she has her countdown background image as a .png file, which has a transparent background. I too wanted mine transparent to look neater on my blog. 😊

About to Finish Up Your Seasonal Crafts?

I imagine most of you are trying to wrap up your seasonal crafts right now. I see some have shows, shops, and online sales you're crafting for. Being a crafter myself, I know the hard work that goes into all this and sincerely wish each and everyone of you a very happy and prosperous season!

I also hope (and encourage all that I can), that more people will buy handmade this year more than ever! Each year we post and share things about buying homemade on our blogs, websites, facebook and other social sites. When you buy homemade you're purchasing soooo much more than just a gift! It's someones creativity, love, hours of hard work on simple details, and their pride.  Without having pride in the finished creation, it would never go out the door! These crafters/artisans/designers pour their heart and soul into each creation. They've spent many hours of tried and trials to develop their own personal techniques, mixes, and perfection for what they do. These are things that can never be purchased from a store! And not only this, but you're helping someone have a little extra to pay a bill, buy needed supplies, or maybe that new pair of shoes the kids are needing. When a creator sells an item, they're excited that you've chosen one of their creations. They're grateful for your purchase and encouraged as well.

We Have A Bingo Winner!

So sorry I'm late posting bout this! We have a winner for our Bingo game that was played on the forum! Congratulations goes out to Nancy DeRosa of Stitches n Strokes!  Hope you enjoy all the goodies Nancy!

And our other players also received a Thank You gift! A token of our appreciation for playing the game.

The bingo game was fun and got every intense toward the end, LOL! All the players enjoyed and we're looking forward to the next one. New For Spring!

Well, it's not new but is making a come back this year. What am I talking about? I'm talking about the Spring crafts....this year I'm seeing the cutest pigs everywhere! :)  And with the pigs, I'm seeing lots of new style chickens, hens, and roosters. I'll have to share links to some freebie patterns with you. ;)
Our Bingo game at the forum is getting really tight about now, LOL! This past weekend made it very interesting. But it will really heat up toward this coming weekend and I can't wait! :)  It's always lots of fun! And not only that, but I was busy adding lots of tutorial links. There's so many wonderful crafting tutorials out there, for all styles! :)

I've had lots of crafting ideas running thru my mind, just haven't had time to put them in action yet. One thing I want to do is make a pig pattern myself. :)  And of course I always share freely with you. And while I'm on the subject....before I forget, let me find those links I mentioned. I'm sure you'll love them as much as I! Please note that a couple are in a different language, but I let Google translate it for me. However the patterns can't be translated but you should be able to look at the finished pattern and figure out what to do and how to put them together. It's really simple. ;)

BINGO and Forum Fun!

Whew! It's been a long while....almost a year since I updated my blog! Shame on me, I'm a bad blogger, LOL!  I'll just say it was a very full year for me last year, with lots of unexpected happenings. ;)  Now that the busy season is over and we're all looking forward to Spring, I wanted to share a few things with you. :)  First off, there will be a new BINGO game starting soon over at The Crafter's Nestled Nook forum!  We'll have some neat prizes for the Bingo game winner so if you're not a member, get over there and join us! :)  I'll be posting pics of the prizes very soon, so keep watch on my blog. ;)  Then shortly after the Bingo game ends, we'll be having an awesome Forum Giveaway! Boxes, Bags, Garland and Annies

Whew! Had another bout with sinuses and been down this past week. Put me behind on my plans but I'm back at it, LOL!  I've made some fabric covered boxes, cute lil printed burlap ditty bags with Sweet Annie and battery operated candles, and lighted rag garland with hearts for Valentine's day. I've started on some Simple Annie dolls but never got to finish them. Will start back on those today and hope to get them completed by this evening? I luv that pattern by The Olde Country Cupboard, it's so easy and sweet! Will share pics of those later, but for now I'm sharing the boxes, bags, and garland....

A Few More Valentines....

I've had a very busy yet fun day. Need to finish a few more goodies then hitting the bed. Need to wrap a few things up so I can start on wax. :)  Wanted to share a few more pics with you as promised. Of all the Valentine goodies to create, I always love making the heart on rusty springs make-do's. They're simple yet have such bold charm!
I can't wait to start putting together the St Patty's day creations, that is such a fun holiday as well. Hope you're all having fun and getting your holiday crafting done too.

More Valentine Goodies

Sharing a few more pics this evening of some Valentine goodies I've been working on. I had some printed burlap a friend sent me and decided to make some cute ditty bags with b/o candles in them. I also saw a tut online where this one girl had used the large candy canes to make a Love Heart door hanger, thought that was so neat and had to try it!  Also showing one of several cheese box lamps I've done for the holiday. This one has a cute pink felt gingy with hearts, sweet annie, pips, plus sprayed with glitter for a wonderful shimmer. It has a flicker bulb in the candle that gives a real candle flame motion and glow. Sharing more pics as I go along. Hope you're all having as much fun as I creating for the holidays!

Sweet Heart Bag Lamps

Don't you just love making the Valentine's Day bag lamps! I sure do, so easy and so many options for whatever your mind wants to create! I wanted to share with you a few pics of some I've been working on. Have other goodies in the works too then will move on to the wax after those things are finished.

I hope everyone's keeping busy and having fun working on the sweet heart's day crafts, giggles! I think Valentine's Day is one of the funnest crafting holidays! All of my sweet heart crafts aren't prim style, but they're still fun to create. I've got to get busy again and finish a couple projects this evening so will hush and post the pics. Hope you share your pics with us too!

Funnel Cakes & A Free Pattern

Oh YUM! Fresh hot funnel cakes this evening! Some times you get a sweet tooth and need to satisfy it, regardless what time it is. Wink! Wink! And speaking of a sweet tooth, how about some Sweet Hearts? Made after the conversation candy pieces, these cute lil ornies can be used as bowl fillers, shlef tucks, or in other creations as they're the perfect size for doing so. Look for my freebie pattern in the share Box in right side menu, "shp.pdf" and download to your computer. I haven't grunged these in cinnamon yet as I wanted to get a decent clear pic to show you. (You all know how terrible I am with the camera, LMBO!)  And, I didn't stitch the words on these but free-hand painted them on. Of course you can stitch yours on if you like, but I went for the quick n easy and they did turn out good. I also have two more patterns in the making and will share them as well once finished.

I have been working on Valentine and Spring crafts, and decided it was time to make my own patterns. I wanted these in a certain size as I'll be using them in lamps and other creations. (I'll update with pics as I go along.) I hope you find this useful and have fun creating them.

Colonial Bonnet Stand

I'm sure you all remember the bonnet stand I made for displaying my bonnets? Well, I'm posting a pic to remind you, LOL! But, I'm also sharing my tutorial for making them. Please note this is a rough draft and I'll update it with lots of pics shortly.
